Galatasaray midfielder and Aston Villa transfer target Nicolò Zaniolo has made it crystal clear where his priorities lie amid interest from the Premier League and across Europe.

The Italian, who played for Genoa and Fiorentina throughout his youth, only moved from AS Roma to the Turkish Süper Lig back in February but has already been heavily linked with a switch away.

A full international for Italy, the 23-year-old scored five goals in 10 league matches during the second half of last season after netting just once in 13 Serie A appearances for José Mourinho’s Roma.

Villa have been widely speculated to be considering making an approach to Galatasaray, while Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus have expressed an interest.

But the player himself has made a clear response, effectively putting an end to the majority of any rumours circling.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Zaniolo said: “I feel great at Galatasaray. I’m open to any solution. I’ve always been a Juventus fan… top club, I’d love to play there.

“If there’s a good chance for all parties with Juventus, perfect. Otherwise, I’ll stay at Galatasaray where I feel very good,” Zaniolo continued.

The Old Lady failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League after a points deduction in Serie A, but Zaniolo went on to say that wouldn’t matter to him, as he’s “all Juventus”.

Unai Emery is still said to admire Zaniolo but is unlikely to make an approach to Galatasaray following this admission from the attacking midfielder.

It’s a shame as he already has the direct experience of winning the Europa Conference League – something an optimistic Emery will be putting plenty of focus on achieving with Villa next term.
