The latest Aston Villa transfer rumours as a teenager gears up for a European challenge.

Aston Villa are reportedly lining up a summer loan move to the German Bundesliga for 18-year-old prodigy Kadan Young.

The England Under-17 international is yet to make a competitive senior appearance for the Villans but the club’s higher-ups are confident he’s ready for a German voyage. It would be a top challenge for the forward as the Bundesliga is now officially ranked by UEFA as the second-best league in Europe, at least by coefficiency.

Football Insider reports interest in Young already exists from German clubs, with a year in the nation “looking likely”. It’s claimed the teenager has been told he will go out on a temporary basis to further his development after a successful campaign in Villa’s youth setup.

Capable of playing on either flank, as an attacking midfielder or as a centre forward, Young’s versatility could come in handy for any potential suitor. He’s also got a decent track record already, with six goals and 11 assists across 46 appearances at either under-23 or under-18 level for Villa.

If Young does indeed make the 500-mile transfer to Germany, he will follow in the footsteps of several fellow Englishmen. Jude Bellingham, Jadon Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi. Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith-Rowe are just a few recent examples of Three Lions in similar positions to Young to have made the move.

Those success stories are likely to motivate Villa’s latest wonderkid to give the switch a go before a possible breakthrough in claret and blue under the experienced Unai Emery’s guidance.
