Aston Villa have completed the signing of Galatasaray attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo on a season-long loan deal, according to a reputable report.

The Italy international comes in to bolster the Villans’ forward line following a serious knee injury suffered by Emiliano Buendía last week.

Reliable transfer news journalist Fabrizio Romano reports Zaniolo has passed an extensive medical and signed his contract, with an announcement now imminent.

An option to buy has been inserted into the agreement with around £18.9 million due upfront if he makes more than 30 appearances, as well as a few million in add-ons.

The 24-year-old was a target for Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus this summer, but he has decided to head to Villa Park.

On Unai Emery and Monchi’s shortlist for quite some time, Zaniolo is expected to play a key role in all competitions throughout the season ahead.

More on the fee and payment structure, here.

Will Villa sign anyone else?

BirminghamWorld understands Emery’s side will not be finished in the transfer market following the signing of Zaniolo, with another forward desired.

It hasn’t been specified if it’s an out-and-out striker or someone a bit deeper that’s wanted, but Villa are still trying to bolster their attacking options regardless.

Meanwhile, reports have been circulating widely about bids being submitted for World Cup winner Marcos Acuña. That’s certainly a story to watch out for.
