Villa and Celtic are among those keen on signing Musibau following their respective scouting missions in West Africa. Although not one to be utilised in the immediate future, the signing could be effective for future-proofing and bolstering those already in the academy ranks.

The Daily Mail reports Musibau has been tracked by both Villa and Celtic ahead of a potential summer swoop. Inter Milan are also said to be interested in the 17-year-old, who has enjoyed a breakthrough with Dreams FC in their domestic league.

Musibau, who has already been likened to Chelsea and Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba for his “barnstorming running style and powerful shot”, is reportedy available for around £1.2 million, posing a possible bargain for keen parties.

Dreams, known for producing talented youngsters, made it into the last four of continental competition the African Confederations Cup but were knocked out by eventual winners Zamalek, from the Egyptian Premier League.

Musibau is not the only Dreams wonderkid gaining attention as teammate Emmanuel Agyei, a 19-year-old defensive midfielder, has also been looked at by scouts from across Europe. Agyei would command a fee of about £750,000, it’s claimed.

Both Musibau and Agyei were key players in Ghana’s youth setup as they were crowned champions of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations. Ghana beat Senegal in the semi-finals before running out 1-0 victors against Uganda in the final.
