Aston Villa have reportedly finally made the decision to sell Philippe Coutinho to Qatari side Al Duhail following speculation over the last few days.

The Brazilian, who formerly played for Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, has been waiting for the Villans to make their call after agreeing to personal terms.

Reliable journalist César Luis Merlo has broken the news that Coutinho will definitely sign for Al Duhail after the Middle Eastern club reached a ‘final’ agreement with Villa.

Although no fee has been mentioned, Coutinho, who has already passed his medical examinations, is said to have accepted signing until June 2025.

Unai Emery confirmed earlier on Deadline Day that the 31-year-old was approaching an exit from Villa Park and now it appears to be moving closer.

“He is close to leaving. We are waiting if the deal is completed or not,” Emery admitted in his pre-Liverpool press conference on Friday.
