The latest Premier League news as Tottenham Hotspur take an Aston Villa leader to join Ange Postecoglou in North London.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the appointment of Mile Jedinak as one of the club’s new assistant coaches, poaching the Australian from Aston Villa.

Formerly a consistent performer and leading voice in England’s two top tiers, the 38-year-old has now departed the Villans for an exciting new opportunity in North London.

Jedinak played 80 times for Villa and was a key figure both on and off the field as Dean Smith’s side were promoted back to the Premier League in 2019.

Since his retirement at the end of that particular season, Jedinak has been the Loan Player Manager at Villa Park but he has now decided to leave for pastures new.

Jedinak will work alongside Ryan Mason and Matt Wells as one of three assistants to support new Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou, who is also an Australian native.

Responding to Jedinak’s departure, Aston Villa tweeted: “Good luck, Mile. Thank you for all your efforts both as a player and as Loan Player Development Coach.”
