Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering making a move for Aston Villa’s John McGinn as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his midfield ahead of the new season.

According to the Daily Mail, Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse and John McGinn are both being lined up by the north London club.

McGinn has attracted interest from some of the Premier League’s top clubs through his performances at Villa Park over the last couple of years, but Steven Gerrard will be desperate to keep hold of the Scotsman during the summer transfer window.

Elsewhere, and Villa have reportedly joined the race to sign Yannick Carrasco from Atletico Madrid.

According to The Sun (via Fichajes), Villa are set to fight it out with Newcastle and Tottenham for the highly rated Belgium winger.

Spurs reportedly want the 28-year-old for his ability to play wing-back, while Newcastle are eyeing Carrasco as they aim to make a statement signing this summer under their new Saudi-backed ownership.

The report states that Villa boss Steven Gerrard is also looking to do the same as they target European football next season.
