The 10 biggest January transfer deals according to FM24 including Aston Villa and Wolves moves

Aston Villa and Wolves are tipped to make a big money move in the January transfer window.

The summer transfer window laid the foundations for what has already been an exciting season for Aston Villa. Unai Emery has proved to be a shrewd operator in the transfer market after he completed eye-catching deals for Villarreal defender Pau Torres and Bayer Leverkusen's highly-rated winger Moussa Diaby.

Loan deals for Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet and Galatasaray attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo were also secured and Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans arrived on a free transfer following his departure from Leicester City. The boost handed by those arrivals have thrust Villa into the race for a Champions League spot and an unlikely bid for the Premier League title has been mentioned by some onlookers if Emery can add further quality to his squad when the winter trading period opens next month.

The summer was slightly more challenging for Wolves but they have also felt the benefit of adding the likes of Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Boubacar Traore and Santiago Bueno to their squad, as well as completing the permanent addition of loan star Matheus Cunha. Despite sitting in the lower half of the table, Gary O'Neil's side have shown some positive signs and can count themselves unfortunate not to be in a more comfortable position after coming out on the wrong end of some questionable VAR decisions.

With all eyes now on the opportunity to add to their squads, how could the January transfer window play out for both clubs?  We fired up Football Manager 2024 to see which big deals the world's most popular managerial simulation predicts will come to fruition - and both Villa and Wolves have landed major deals.
