Man Untied legend Ruud van Nistlerooy is also a contender for the role but there is no concrete news of where Leicester are heading in their manager search.
Bruce, who has years of experience managing in the Premier League has offered his services to Leicester. He's been out of work since being sacked by West Brom and would have no qualms about taking the job.
“A points deduction wouldn’t put me off,” he said on talkSPORT with the Midlands club potentially facing Financial Fair Play punishments.
“Leicester, you know where I am! I mean, what a wonderful opportunity that is all of a sudden.

It's been 19 months since Bruce was in a dugout after being relieved of his duties as West Brom boss. He is keen to get back football either as a manager or as an advisor as part of a club's wider football staff.
“I’m looking to do something,” he said. “I mean I’ve had a year off now.”
"Either management, or working alongside somebody. Or I’d like to think if a chairman asked me a question on football, I’d like to give him an answer.
“I’ve been in [football] a long time. But I’ve had a long winter in this country without work and so to do something is the next step."
