All the hard work is set to be worth it as the Villans are to pass through the Premier League’s strict profit and sustainability regulations (PSR), all while conducting astute business.
Ross Barkley can effectively be considered a Villa player, barring the final steps and an announcement. The Luton Town midfielder is set to undergo a medical and sign his contract any moment. Luton will receive £5 million and an agreement on personal terms was reached weeks ago.
Juventus are responsible for half of Villa’s pending transfers as Douglas Luiz has been sold for around £25 million and two players are moving in the other direction. The fee received for the Brazilian midfielder is crucial to Villa’s PSR concerns being eased.

A second sale is done and awaiting an announcement. Villa’s 18-year-old midfielder Omari Kellyman has completed a £19 million move to Chelsea - similarly to Carney Chukwuemeka two years ago - after making just six senior appearances.
Finally, Ian Maatsen has already put pen to paper on a six-year contract. The Netherlands international left-back, who recently reached the Champions League final while on loan at Borussia Dortmund, joins from Chelsea for £37.5 million.
