Colombian forward Jhon Duran came off the bench to score a late double in an incredible 3-3 draw between Aston Villa and Liverpool on Monday, in a game which had everything from last minute goals to contentious refereeing decisions.
The point all but secures Villa’s return to the Champions League after a long hiatus, but Unai Emery’s men may well have signed off their final home game with a victory if it wasn’t for VAR ruling out Ollie Watkins’ strike for offside. Liverpool’s second goal was also subject to a thorough check but was awarded after Joe Gomez was confirmed as onside before setting up Cody Gakpo.
