Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have received a boost in pursuit of a clinical striker this summer.

AS Roma attacker Tammy Abraham is once again being linked with a return to the Premier League, three years after swapping the English top flight for Serie A.

The former England international is expected to leave the Italian capital this summer following a tricky 2023/24 season which was effectively written off through injury. Returning in April of this year, Abraham at least managed to notch one goal and one assist in 318 minutes to escape the campaign with something to write home about.

Abraham’s previous two years at Roma were rather contrasting as he netted a career-best 27 goals in 53 appearances during his first campaign but scored just nine times the season after. Although rather inconsistent over the years, there’s no doubting Abraham’s capabilities and clinical nature when he’s at his best.

Premier League clubs keen on signing Abraham are in luck as The Telegraph reports the striker could be available for as little as £20 million this summer. Roma must sell players to raise funds as they are struggling to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP), much like English sides facing issues with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations (PSR).

Villa, Spurs and West Ham in contact for Abraham

It’s claimed that Villa, Tottenham and West Ham have all been made aware of Abraham’s availability after previously expressing an interest. Spurs are yet to decide if they want to push for the signing, while Villa will only make a swoop if Jhon Duran’s sale to Chelsea - worth upwards of £40 million - is finalised.

Those associated with the Villans will already have fond Abraham memories as the striker was a goalscoring machine during the 2018/19 promotion campaign. The former Chelsea ace netted 26 goals in 40 appearances during his season-long loan spell, helping soar the men in claret and blue back to the Premier League.
