The video assistant referee was introduced to the Premier League at the start of last season and has definitely caused some controversy since.
Aston Villa have endured their fair share of VAR incidents, including Ezri Konsa’s yellow card upgraded to a red against West Ham and Jacob Ramsey’s disallowed goal vs Leicester.
Meanwhile, VAR also gave them a helping hand in their August clash with Newcastle United when it gifted them a penalty, before cancelling a spot kick for the Magpies almost 20 minutes later.
Goals, penalties and red card are all subject to VAR with over 100 incidents leading to an intervention from Stockley Park so far in the Premier League this season.
