Aston Villa are experiencing their best start to a Premier League season in decades and could find themselves at the top of the table at Christmas for the first time since John Gregory’s reign as manager back in the 1998/99 campaign.
Unai Emery’s men have exceeded expectations this season and on a much lower scale the same can be said for Midlands rivals Wolves who are currently in 13th position despite being many people’s tip for the drop at the start of the season.
Wolves have achieved this position despite being at the centre of a number of controversial VAR calls and manager Gary O’Neil has admitted in recent weeks that he has been against the idea of technological intervention.
