Aston Villa and Wolves put together very different summer transfer windows.
Unai Emery was handed a significant amount of money to spend, and they managed to spend wisely, with the likes of Pau Torres, Moussa Diaby and Youri Tielemans arriving. Wolves splashed big on Matheus Cunha, but they likely didn’t do enough to replace Matheus Nunes and Ruben Neves, and their lack spending led to the departure of Julen Lopetegui, with Gary O’Neil coming in as the replacement ahead of the season.
