Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest have locked horns in the summer transfer window - meanwhile, Wolves are ‘keeping tabs’ on a Hull City star.

We are just one day away from England’s tumultuous Euro 2024 quarter final clash with Switzerland. Football fans across the country are waiting feverishly - but in the meantime, let’s take a look at all the biggest transfer rumours from around Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers today.

Villa have hit something of a stumbling block in the race to bring a highly-rated free agent on board. Nottingham Forest have reportedly made a ‘move’ for the player - as such, Unai Emery’s men will need to act fast.

While this is going on, Wolves have been ‘keeping tabs’ on a Hull City star who has been heavily linked with a move to newly-promoted Ipswich Town. Can Gary O’Neil’s men rock the boat and snap him up before the Tractor Boys do?

Nottingham Forest ‘make move’ for Kelechi Iheanacho in Aston Villa transfer saga

It has been long understood that Aston Villa are interested in a move for free agent Kelechi Iheanacho, following his release from Leicester City. However, they have recently suffered a major blow in their pursuit of the player - Nottingham Forest have recently made a ‘move’ for Iheanacho in the summer transfer window.

This is according to a recent report from Football Insider. Villa will only make a move for the Nigerian international if Jhon Duran leaves the club - as he has yet to do so, it has put their efforts to sign Iheanacho on ice. They now risk missing out on his services entirely, as Forest edge closer to striking an official deal.

While Iheanacho is a highly-coveted forward, his performances from last season do not back this up. He played in 23 Championship games last season and could only muster five goals - nevertheless, a fresh start for the 27-year-old may be just what he needs ahead of next season.

He has shown his true quality on several occasions in the past for both Leicester and reigning Premier League champions Manchester City. He has 42 Premier League goals under his belt, as well as 25 assists in England’s top division - can he replicate this at Villa Park?

Wolves have ‘kept tabs’ on Hull City’s Jacob Greaves amid Ipswich Town interest

Jacob Greaves could very well make the jump from Hull City to Ipswich Town in the summer - however, Wolves are still waiting in the wings and have been ‘keeping tabs’ on the status of the 23-year-old.

This is according to a report from Football League World, who also note that West Ham United have been previously linked with a move for Greaves. With Max Kilman set to leave the Molineux Stadium in favour of a move to the Hammers, bringing in Greaves would be an excellent way to replace him - unless Ipswich beat them to the punch in the coming weeks.

Last season, Greaves played a pivotal role in Hull’s impressive Championship campaign that saw them miss out on the playoffs by just three points. He made 43 league appearances in total, scoring two goals along the way - he also notched up four assists.
