Aston Villa target Eden Hazard is reportedly of interest to fellow Premier League side Newcastle United, with the Magpies set to race Villa to his signature. The Real Madrid star has been linked with a move to Villa Park for a few weeks, with Unai Emery said to be keen to make the former Chelsea winger his marquee signing.

Hazard, who has struggled since signing for Real in 2019, could be offered an escape route by coming back to the familiar surroundings of the Premier League. Despite setting back Los Blancos over £100 million after add-ons, the Belgian has only scored seven goals in 72 appearances.

According to Fichajes, there are three possible destinations for Hazard - Villa, Newcastle and Italian giants Juventus. The Spanish outlet reports Hazard wants to redeem himself, with the preference being to stay in Madrid, but Real are eager to get him off the books.

The report claims Villa are following Hazard’s progress ‘closely’, whereas Newcastle are set to reignite their interest from the summer. Eddie Howe’s side had reportedly made offers to Real, but the player convinced the club to keep him for the time being. That is now, as Fichajes state, no longer the case - as Real are very much wanting to sell Hazard.

At Chelsea, Hazard established himself as one of the best players in the world, winning three Premier League titles, two FA Cups, two EFL cups and two Europa Leagues. He also won the Chelsea Player of the Year award on four occasions. Even a smidge of his previous achievements would likely be welcomed by all at Villa Park or St James’. This could well be one to watch.
