Manchester City are interested in signing former Wolverhampton Wanderers starlet Ruben Neves.

That's according to Football Insider who report that the Citizens have 'concrete interest' in the midfielder who left Wolves just last summer to join Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia.

If the Magpies are allowed to sign Neves this winter, then there is no doubt that they will be gaining a supremely talented player and someone who would improve their starting squad. If the Magpies are allowed to sign Neves this winter, then there is no doubt that they will be gaining a supremely talented player and someone who would improve their starting squad.

Neves would provide a perfect replacement for Kalvin Phillips who is expected to depart Manchester within the coming months with Newcastle United linked with the Englishman's signature.

The Magpies are also said to hold interest in Neves but City could perhaps kill two birds with one stone if they were to offload Phillips to the Northeast in order to quench their need for a midfielder whilst also getting their man.

Neves, 26, gave an emotional farewell to Molineux following his departure in the summer and a return to the Premier League not wearing the gold and black may be a little too much too soon for the Wolves faithful.

Villa to reignite Abraham interest

Would it be a (nearly) transfer window without Aston Villa being linked with bringing Tammy Abraham back to Villa Park?

Football Insider report that the Villans are plotting a January move for the striker who has been playing his trade in Serie A with Roma since 2021.

The report states that Villa will look to offload forward Jhon Duran on loan and want a big replacement through the door for a big push in the second half of the campaign.

Abraham had a successful season-long loan with Villa during their promotion season in 2018-19 and has found himself linked with a return to the West Midlands pretty much every year since.

He scored 26 in 40 for Villa that year but has since gone on to solidify himself as one of the top strikers in Europe with Italian giants Roma.
