The Real Madrid star is known to be a good friend of the Aston Villa loanee

Jude Bellingham continued his fine form for Real Madrid after scoring a brace in his new club’s 3-1 win at Almeria.

The former Birmingham City man has now scored 3 goals in his first two La Liga games, with his brother Jobe also getting on the scoresheet on Saturday. Jobe scored both goals as Sunderland came from behind to beat Rotherham at the Stadium of Light.

It’s been a good weekend for the Bellingham brothers, and Jude still found time to heap praise on one of Aston Villa’s young talents. Despite the Villa and Blues rivalry, Jude congratulated fellow Birmingham-born midfielder Louie Barry after he scored the winning goal for Stockport County against Barrow on Saturday.

Barry is on-loan at Stockport from Villa, and is a good friend of Bellingham. Following the game, Barry posted a photo of his celebration, with the caption: “No better feeling. First goal and win of the season. Onto the next.”

Bellingham commented on Barry’s post, writing “Yessir.” Barry’s Villa teammate Jacob Ramsey also commented on the post, adding clapping hand emojis.

Tavares update

Elsewhere, Aston Villa are weighing up making a surprise move for Arsenal full-back Nuno Tavares as an alternative to Sevilla’s Marcos Acuña, according to a reputable report.

The Villans have been keen to add depth on the left side of defence for a while but it has become even more of a necessity following the long-term injury suffered by Tyrone Mings.

Acuña is thought to be the priority target for the position but another option has been drawn up in the form of Arsenal’s Tavares, who had previously been targeted by Nottingham Forest.
