Barcelona open €30m transfer talks for former Aston Villa, Cardiff City and Stoke star

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Hull City star Jaden Philogene, according to a report in Spain.
According to Spanish outlet Relevo, the La Liga giants are in discussions with Hull City over a move that would take Philogene to the Camp Nou. Barelona are pursuing a move for Neco Williams but have Philogene as a back up plan, as they might be priced out of a move for Williams, who is valued at €58m.

Barcelona's interest is of news to Aston Villa because they only sold him to the Tigers last summer for £5m. Vila did have a £15m option on Philogene, but that can only be activated when the two clubs are in the same division, and Hull missed out on promotion last season, so they are free to discuss selling him to other teams.
Barcelona aren't the only team interested in signing him with newly promoted Southampton keen along with West Ham. Local outlet Hull Live say that Hull City are braced for offers for Philogene this summer, but as of yet none have been officially lodged. Hull's stance on Philogene is that they have no intention to sell, and owner Acun Ilicali would not accept a €30m offer for him.
The 22-year-old has just came off a campaign which saw him get 12 goals and six assists in 32 games for Hull. It is an improvement on the five goals and an assist that the four-time England under-21 international had at Cardiff City.
