Here’s the contract status of all 32 senior Aston Villa players ahead of summer transfer window

Some big decisions await Steven Gerrard during his first summer in charge at Villa Park.

A big, big summer of change is expected at Aston Villa Football Club when the transfer window opens up on June 10th.

It will be the first summer under new manager Steven Gerrard and the former Liverpool captain isn’t expected to take it steady.

Plenty of ins and maybe even more outs will be seen as Gerrard looks to mould his Villa side into his own moving forward.

The permanent additions of Lucas Digne and Calum Chambers in January along with the loan signing of Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona gave Villa fans just a taste of the new found pulling power they may have under their new boss.

And with Coutinho expected to sign on his own permanent dotted line within the coming weeks, the summer wheel looks to already have begun turning in an exciting fashion.

With all the turnover, though, there will of course be some casualties. We’ve already seen Matt Targett and Anwar El Ghazi depart in January on loan deals - two players that were previously mainstays in and around the first team but two that have probably played their last games in the claret and blue.

Those two won’t be the first and they certainly won’t be the last. So who could be joining them out of the door?

BirminghamWorld takes a look at where the current Villa squad stand with their contracts and the dates that they are due to expire at Villa Park.
