The Villains resume their Premier League season with a trip to the capital to face Fulham.

Aston Villa get their Premier League campaign back underway when they travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on Saturday (October 18).

It’s been over a fortnight since their last match owing to the international break, and their trip to West London is the beginning of what is a busy period for the Villains. Villa will have three games in the space of seven days when they play Fulham, Bologna, and Bournemouth

Three places separate the Claret & Blue and the Cottagers. Villa are in fifth and five points ahead of Fulham in eighth.

With the international break drawing to a close, and the pre-match press conferences to come later this week, here’s the latest injury news.

Aston Villa team news

Boubacar Kamara and Tyrone Mings are still working towards their return. They played for the under-21s earlier this month, and also in a friendly against Sheffield Wednesday

Ezri Konsa had to withdraw from the England squad for their games against Greece and Finland. With a game against Bologna to come next week, Konsa might target that fixture rather than this weekend’s clash.

Amadou Onana didn’t link up with his Belgium teammates either. A hamstring injury ruled him out of Villa’s last match against Manchester United, and the international break.

Jacob Ramsey suffered an injury in the same game as Onana. He came off for Leon Bailey after just 27 minutes and they will be sweating on his fitness.

John McGinn suffered a hamstring injury against Wolves, forcing him to miss a couple of weeks of action. The game against Fulham is one he could be targeting a return for.

A new injury has come up for Villa in the last few days. He returned from international duty after picking up an injury whilst with the England under-21s. It’s not serious, but is ‘likely’ to rule him out for this weekend.

Doubt: Ezri Konsa, Jaden Philogene, John McGinn, Jacob Ramsey, and Amadou Onana. Out: Boubacar Kamara, and Tyrone Mings.

Fulham team news

Fulham don’t have too many injuries to contend with. They’ve got two doubts, and only one confirmed absentee.

Jorge Cuenca has an ankle injury, whilst Vinicius has a calf problem. Cuenca’s been missing for the last two matches, whilst Vinicius hasn’t played this term.

Sasa Lukic meanwhile suffered an injury whilst on international duty. He apparently injured his right acromioclavicular joint which ruled him out of action for Serbia’s Nations League tie with Spain.
