Aston Villa fell to their third consecutive Premier League defeat on Friday evening following the 3-1 loss at the Emirates stadium.

Thomas Partey, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Emile Smith-Rowe all bagged for the Gunners before substitute Jacob Ramsey put some respectability on the scoreline with a late consolation.

It was a miserable performance for the most part from Villa and that misery reflected in the fantasy scores across the board. Unless, of course, you had the ever impressive Emi Martinez between the sticks.

Top dogs

Emiliano Martinez (£5.5) - 10 points

One of the few Villa players that didn’t deserve to be on the losing side.

He made six saves on the night including a great stop from Aubameyang’s penalty, though unfortunately for him, the forward was able to tuck home the rebound.

Despite conceding three goals, the Argentine still picked up two bonus points for another fine performance.

Jacob Ramsey (£4.5) - 6 points

The young midfielder was introduced with just over 20 minutes of the game remaining and still managed to be Villa’s second highest scorer on the day.

His performance begs the question as to why he’s not been starting over the last few weeks. Ramsey brought so much more energy to the midfield and his goal was top class.

If he’s able to deliver this on a consistent basis, 4.5 won’t be there for long.

Leon Bailey (£6.4) - 4 points

Bailey, like Ramsey, was only introduced in the second-half and he himself made a big difference to the game.

There’s an excitement when he gets on the ball and it was he that provided the assist for Ramsey’s 82nd minute goal.

He nearly bagged one himself but his free-kick clipped the crossbar. Another if, but if he can stay fit, he’ll be a popular addition.

Top flops

Ollie Watkins (£7.3) - 1 point

With just one goal to his name so far this season, Watkins continues to be a disappointment for the price tag.

He’s played well and worked hard in the majority of games but sadly for FPL purposes, that won’t be winning you many awards.

Matty Cash (£5.1) - 1 point

Cash has been a popular pick by many this year. As an attacking full-back in a team that likes to attack, it’s not hard to understand why.

He struggled to get anything going on Friday evening though and after shipping three goals, finished on just the one point.

Danny Ings (£7.8) - 2 points

It wasn’t a good day for any of the Villa forwards that started the game in truth.

Neither had a real clear cut chance across the course of the 90 minutes and against an Arsenal team not exactly renowned for their defensive capabilities - it came as a big disappointment.

Two points from your £7.8 striker isn’t what you want to see at the end of a gameweek.
