Jamie Smith, son of former Aston Villa manager Dean Smith, has weighed in with a not-so subtle dig at Birmingham City following Blues’ penalty shoot-out defeat to Norwich City on Tuesday evening.

He took to his social media page to write ‘sh*t on the City!’ following the game to the delight of Villa fans and the annoyance of those on the blue half of the city.

The Smith family have never hidden the fact that they are huge fans of the claret and blue and that has never changed, even after Dean was sacked by the club last season following a five game losing streak.

He was appointed manager of the Canaries less than a month later and despite not being able to save them from relegation from the Premier League - he has now been given the opportunity to guide them back there this season.

Norwich being back in the Championship also means he gets to square off with old foes Birmingham City at least twice more before the season is out and whilst he no longer wear’s the crest of Villa, victory in those games will feel just as sweet.

Blues on the other hand will hope to earn their revenge when they face off for the first time in the league at the end of August and should they do that, the fans will be sure to let the Smith family know about it.
