The Republic of Ireland international came off with an injury against England last weekend, and was withdrawn from international duty shortly after that. Coleman already missed the two opening games of the Premier League season, but made a return to action before the international break against Doncaster Rovers and Bournemouth.

Everton's club captain though is doubtful for the Toffees as they go on search for their first win of the campaign. The 35-year-old had a knock to the ankle when contesting a ball with Man United defender Harry Maguire.

Both Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson are both unlikely to feature at Villa Park either. Neither player has played a minute of competitive football this season. Branthwaite had minor surgery on his groin in the summer and will need to work up some robustness before he is thrown in to competitive action. Scotland defender Patterson meanwhile required surgery in April for a hamstring injury and that ruled him out of EURO 2024.

In his pre-match press conference, Dyche said: “Seamus is touch and go for the weekend, unfortunately, but we’ll see how he goes, see how he recovers from that tomorrow more so.

“Jarrad is just on the grass now,"

"He's at the beginning process. [Nathan Patterson] is the same.

"They've both done a lot of work with the sport scientist team. What I mean is that they've just started to train with us every day. So training period, game period then to be classed as fully fit.

Deadline day signing Armando Broja is not available for selection, and the same can be said for Youssef Chermiti. Broja, who is on a season-long loanf rom Chelsea, is out with an Achilles problem, and won't feature until around October. Fellow striker Chermiti has an ankle injury, but Dyche did not reveal a time scale for the return for the 20-year-old.
