Aston Villa are ‘finalising’ a £50m move for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana,

That’s acording to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, who claims an agreement is in place that will see the 22-year-old move to Villa Park on a long-term deal.

It’s also claimed Unai Emery is central to the move, with Onana keen to play for the Spaniard.

The Belgian international featured 33 times for Everton in all competitions last sseason. The midfielder cost the Toffess £34m when they signed him from Lille in 2022.

Onana’s performances for Everton for the past two seasons has seen his stock rise, with the player reortedly on the radar of many clubs this summer, including Arsenal and Manchester United.

He’ll be seen as a direct replacement for Douglas Luiz, who moved to Juventus at the end of last month.

Onana, who started all four of Belgium’s recent Euro 2024 games in Germany, wants to play in the Champions League - something Villa can offer the midfielder next season.
