David Ornstein issues major Raheem Sterling to Aston Villa update
Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling will not be moving to Aston Villa this summer as Unai Emery is reportedly not interested in signing the former Manchester City man. It’s understood Sterling was offered to Villa by Chelsea last week and initial talks took place. After some brief consideration, however, the Villans have decided against a swoop.
David Ornstein of The Athletic reports Villa have no firm interest in Sterling and are “not pursuing the matter”. The former England international’s astronomical wages in excess of £300,000 per week were always going to make a deal tricky.
