The January transfer window is here and it’s expected to be a busy one across the Premier League as clubs begin buying and selling players once again.
Unai Emery will take charge of his first transfer window at Villa Park and it remains to be seen which positions he will look to strengthen or add depth to. In the past, January transfer windows at the Midlands clubs have seen big money arrivals come through the doors while others have been quiet or even gone by without any new arrivals.
Here we take a look back at the last nine January transfer windows for Aston Villa. This is how much cash they splashed in each and who the biggest arrival of each window was:

1. 2021 - £27 million
