As the January transfer window heads closer to its end, we take a look at Aston Villa’s current squad value compared to their Premier League rivals.
Unai Emery has done a brilliant job since arriving through the doors at Villa Park in late October, taking Aston Villa from a potential relegation battle right up to within a point of Liverpool and Chelsea. The Lions are now just a win or two away from breaking into the top six and, just like their league position, their squad value is soaring.
Only two signings have been made this month, with European-class left-back Alex Moreno joining from Real Betis, and Jhon Duran arriving from Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire, but more business is likely to be done before the end of the January transfer window.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest figures from Transfermarkt, as well as a comparison to the start of the current season.
