Every Aston Villa fan will have an opinion on who their star player was over the course of the 2021/22 campaign.

Whilst the season itself was below par in terms of what was achieved, there were still plenty of players that deserve credit - whilst others - not so muh.

Officially it was Matty Cash that picked up fans’ player of the year thanks to his consistent performances throughout the year and his call up to the Polish national side capped off what was a real solid season for the right-back on a personal level.

Jacob Ramsey was Villa’s new starboy, emerging as one of the first names on the team-sheet, especially under Steven Gerrard and he also picked up a couple of awards, the players’ player and young player of the year.

Do the statistics back up those selections, though?

Whilst some much prefer to use their own eyes to make judgement, others like to delve into the stats and that’s exactly what we’ve done here at BirminghamWorld.

Using the website WhoScored, we’ve looked at how they rated all of Villa’s players from best to worst in 21/22.
