Aston Villa’s 2022/23 home, away, third and goalkeeper kits have all supposedly been ‘leaked’ on social media and it’s of course got the fanbase talking.

It marks the first year of the partnership with new provider ‘Castore’ - a rapidly expanding British sportswear group that are taking the industry by storm.

Villa have become the third Premier League team to sign with the brand, following West Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers and North East money bags Newcastle United to the switch.

The deal with Castore brings to an end their three year relationship with Kappa and a new provider will alwys bring new ideas, so the design of the new look strips was always going to be of interest of the fans.

Whilst there is not always notable changes among kits from year to year, the difference between the 2021/22 strips and the leaked ones for 2022/23 are quite strong.

This season we saw stripes embedded throughout all of them, from more enhanced bold ones in the claret and blue to more fine thin ones in the white away kit.

As you can see from the leaks above, though, they have been removed with the home and away designs being far more simplistic than in previous years.

The third kit remains quite extravagant as is often a common theme across the league but sees a change in colour to a black and yellow.

It is worth noting that Villa are yet to reveal any details of their new shirts. Also, kit ‘leaks’ in the past haven’t always proved to be the most reliable so just take them with a pinch of salt for now.

How Aston Villa fans have reacted to the kit leaks

@hannahgowen_: Those shirt leaks are horrid So cheap, boring, and that third kit is terrifying #avfc

@robmorris123: Can’t be true! They’re shocking!

@AVFCjazza: 3rd kit looks the nicest of the lot. Home and away kit are both alright tbf

@euanavfc: A two year old could have designed that home kit

@1998_David_: Like them remind me of LUKE nice simple with a little design goin on but not as good as LUKE be 2nd best ever kit though

@MillingtonVilla: Home is awful, so lazy and poor. Away is ok, but too much like this season’s. Third is ok, seen better, seen worse. Really poor showing, every Kappa kit beats these…not one is better than any Kappa kit

@ReubenOwen_: Nothing wrong with the home. Simple and traditional, good enough for me. Away kit is a little bit Scunthorpey for me ngl And the third, a Part of me thinks it’s nice and a part of me can’t stand it.

@marshallavfc: Since relegation and Macron, Villa don’t do wacky kits apart from 3rd kits. I actually like these #avfc
