Aston Villa are being linked with a loan move for Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial ahead of next season. Football Transfers claims that Unai Emery is ‘weighing’ up a loan-to-buy deal for the France international as he looks to bolster his attacking options as prepares for his first full campaign in charge at Villa Park.

Martial, who is 27-years-old, has been on the books at Old Trafford since 2015 and has scored 87 goals in 296 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, helping them win the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League during his time in the North West. However, with his contract up in 2024, he is facing an uncertain long-term future with Erik ten Hag’s side and they have a big decision on what to do with him in the next transfer window.

Battle for midfielder

Wolves and Villa are both reportedly in the race to sign Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra this summer. The Sun claim the pair are ‘keen’ on luring the promising 19-year-old over to England along with Premier League rivals such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Leeds United.

Diarra has played for his current club since joining them in 2018 from FC Mulhouse in the French third tier and was handed his first start back in October 2021. He hasn’t looked back since and has now played 32 times for their senior team as he considers which direction he wants to take now.
