Aston Villa vs Olympiacos second half delayed by medical emergency in Holte End

A medical emergency briefly delayed the restart of Aston Villa vs Olympiacos in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The start of the second half of Aston Villa vs Olympiacos was delayed for around five minutes due to a medical emergency in the crowd.

Just after the players headed down the tunnel for the interval, supporters in section lower two of the Holte End were urged to clear the area immediately via a tannoy announcement.

Fans in the section promptly vacated the nearby seats as requested, allowing paramedics and stewards to rush to attend the scene.

An ambulance was then driven in through the bottom left corner of the stand, before the ill supporter was carefully moved into the vehicle for further assistance.

Once the person was in the ambulance, the stadium announcer showed appreciation.

“We’d like to thank our medical staff for their prompt assistance this evening,” was the message via the Villa Park PA system.

An update will be published in due course.
