Lucas Digne comes straight into the Aston Villa side to face Manchester United with fellow new arrival Philippe Coutinho having to settle for a place on the bench.

It’s a brave decision from Steven Gerrard to throw Digne straight into the eleven and take out last year’s players’ player of the season Matt Targett.

But the scouser is paid to make the big decisions and will be hoping it pays off for him as his team take on United for the second time in less than a week.

The rest of the team is as you were aside from John McGinn who misses out through suspension.

Morgan Sanson comes in for a rate start in place of the Scot and will need to put in a strong performance after an injury riddled season to date.

The big news from the visitors perspective is the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo.
