Aston Villa vs Manchester United team news: Starting lineups confirmed for Premier League six-pointer

The starting lineups and substitutes have been confirmed for Aston Villa vs Manchester United in the Premier League.

Unai Emery and Erik ten Hag have named their starting lineups and substitutes ahead of this afternoon's Premier League clash at Villa Park.

The Villans head into this one eight points above the Red Devils and have a brilliant opportunity to extend the gap to 11. A defeat, however, and the difference will be merely three points.

It's a game that will have major ramifications on which teams qualify for the UEFA Champions League as the top five in the Premier League are expected to qualify for Europe's top competition.

Emery has decided against starting Pau Torres for today's game, despite the Spaniard returning from his ankle injury. Caution is required as losing the £32 million signing to another issue would be catastrophic.

Diego Carlos and Clement Lenglet partner up once again, while Matty Cash fills in at right back in Ezri Konsa's absence. Ollie Watkins leads the line as per usual but there's a chance in midfield as Youri Tielemans comes out for Jacob Ramsey.
