The team news is out for Aston Villa vs Manchester United in the Premier League.

Unai Emery and Erik ten Hag have named their respective starting lineups and substitutes ahead of this afternoon’s clash at Villa Park.

Today’s hosts will be keen to carry on their momentum following an unbeaten month of September and an outstanding 1-0 win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday. The visitors, meanwhile, are in a deep rut and their manager, ten Hag, is under immense pressure to dig them out.

If Villa run out victors today, ten Hag’s time at Man Utd could come to an abrupt end. Speculation from earlier this week suggests the Dutchman was given the clash with Porto and today as his final chances. Given United drew 3-3 in the first of those matches, today could be the final straw.

Emery’s side will want to rub salt in United’s wounds, though their priority is of course themselves. Villa must stick to their game plan and try not to let any of the outside noise about their opponents get in the way of that.

Matty Cash makes his return to Villa’s starting XI today following several weeks out with a hamstring injury and Leon Bailey has been given the go-ahead to play despite lacking sharpness midweek. For the visitors, Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire are in the XI ahead of Matthijs De Ligt and Lisandro Martinez.
