Aston Villa continue to battle it out for a spot in the Premier League's top four, and indeed for Champions League qualification. Unai Emery's man have enjoyed a superb season so far, but they still have plenty to do to keep Tottenham at bay.

Spurs were allowed to run riot against Villa last time out, moving to within two points of Villa with a game in hand still to play. But it is true that Ange Postecoglou's men have a more difficult run-in to negotiate, albeit they have pulled off some big results against the bigger sides this season.

In that vein, we have put together a final Premier League table using reverse results. In other words, we have taken the remaining fixtures for Villa, Tottenham and Manchester United and applied the results from the reverse fixtures earlier in the season. The good news is that if those results were to play out in the same way, Villa would secure fourth spot with a mammoth 78 points. That would put them two points ahead of Tottenham, who would rack up a still impressive 76 points.

Interestingly, Villa would actually finish third, with Manchester City finishing on 77 if they were to get the same results as earlier this season, albeit that scenario is not all that likely. Manchester United would only pick up 10 more points if they were to repeat their early-season form, and they will likely miss out on the top six with such a return.

While the reverse results are unlikely to play out in an exact fashion, especially given some of the tricky games both teams have remaining, it does give us an idea of what to expect from Villa and Tottenham as they approach their respective run-ins, and it shows just how close the race is likely to be.
