Player ratings: Aston Villa cruise to 4-0 win over Brentford following Steven Gerrard sacking
Villa are up to 14th following a much-needed three points against Brentford

Aston Villa cruised to a 4-0 victory over Brentford in the club’s first game since sacking head coach Steven Gerrard.
Aaron Danks took interim charge of the squad against Thomas Frank’s men on Sunday (23 October), and he got off to the best start with a dominating Villa display.
Two goals from Danny Ings, and one each from man-of-the-match Leon Bailey and Ollie watkins secured victory for Danks’ side, who are now up to 14th in the table following the win.
Ings struck twice in quick succession, including one from the penalty spot, as Villa raced into a 3-0 lead after 14 minutes. Things got even better inside a jubilant Villa Park when Ollie Watkins slammed home the fourth goal just before the hour mark with Leon Bailey scoring the first goal after just two minutes.
