Aston Villa will have no representation in the England squad at the Qatar World Cup, it has been confirmed. Gareth Southgate’s official 26-man roster was revealed at 2pm on Thursday, November 10.

The Villa players in best contention for a spot were arguably centre back Tyrone Mings, striker Ollie Watkins and veteran wing-back Ashley Young - but they all miss out. Instead, the likes of Conor Coady, Eric Dier, Ben White and Callum Wilson have made the selection.
