In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the two Birmingham clubs.

Coutinho exit

Aston Villa look set to offload Philippe Coutinho to Qatar, according to Fabrizio Romano.

“Philippe Coutinho has now reached an agreement with Qatari side Al Duhail on personal terms; but still no final green light from Aston Villa,” Romano tweeted. “Negotiations continue but from Qatar serious intention to proceed and make it happen.”

Coutinho made a big impression at Villa Park initially, but Unai Emery will now get a good fee for him after a summer of big spending. Coutinho was on the bench for Villa’s last Premier League outing, and he picked up an injury after comin g off the bench.

Semedo swap deal offer

Wolves are said to have received a surprise swap deal approach from Manchester United.

According to Football Insider, United have contacted Wolves to see if they would be interested in swapping Nelson Semedo for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Wan-Bissaka could be behind Diogo Dalot this season, while United are said to be keen on Semedo, who they feel can add a little more going forward.

Whether Wolves would be willing to part ways with Semedo after two years is another thing after a difficult summer on the transfer front. Wan-Bissaka has just 12 months remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, while Semedo is tied down at Molineux until 2025.
