Aston Villa will look to build on their win against Brentford when they host Southampton at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Villains finally got back to winning ways when Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Matty Cash all scored in the first-half. They had gone eight games without a win, but rediscovered their ruthless streak as they put the Bees to the sword.

Hide AdSouthampton were on the receiving end of a 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Chelsea. Joe Aribo levelled after Axel Disasi's opener, but they were powerless to resist the Blues' attacking threat.
Players only have a couple of days rest until they have to get back in to the swing of things. Here's the latest injury and team news prior to each manager's pre-match press conference.


Aston Villa team news
Amadou Onana is nursing a foot injury and did not play against Brentford. He hasn't played since suffering an injury whilst on international duty with Belgium. He was given an outside chance of featuring against Chelsea but wasn’t named in the squad.
Jacob Ramsey is a confirmed absentee. He picked up a hamstring injury against Liverpool before the international break. Ramsey will be targeting a return just before Christmas.

Flynn Downes, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, and Tyler Dibling are all back and available for selection once again. The trio were given yellow cards in the draw to Brighton & Hove Albion and as a result received a one-match ban as per Premier League rules.
Neither Juan Larios or Ross Stewart will play a part for Southampton for the remainder of the year. Stewart is ahead of Larios in terms of a return, but both have had their fair share of injury troubles over the last two-years.
William Smallbone tweaked his hamstring in a 3-2 defeat to Leicester City in October. He's set to be out for a 'little bit of time'. Lesley Ugochukwu returns to the side however as he was ineligible to play against Chelsea, as they are his parent club.


Russell Martin was hopeful that Paul Onuachu would be able to play against Chelsea, but he didn't make the match day squad. As a result, his status is doubtful for the fixture, as is Jan Bednarek who has missed the last three games.

Hide AdAdam Lallana is injured after suffering a groin injury against his former club Liverpool. He has missed the last two games, and isn’t expected to play any part on Saturday. Lallana could return next week for their game against Spurs however.
Aaron Ramsdale has had to have an operation on his finger. He's not expected back until just before Christmas. Jack Stephens is suspended after picking up a red card which will rule him out for the next three games. Goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu ruptured his Achilles tendon in April and will be out until 2025.
