Aston Villa are well on their way to being ready for the new season.
Steven Gerrard will want to take a giant leap forward this season following a 14th place finish last season.
The former Rangers boss improved performances after coming in midway through the season, but the pressure will be on for the new campaign.
Villa have invested significantly to back Gerrard, with a number of key signings already wrapped up, including Boubacar Kamara and Diego Carlos.
The signings may not end there, either, with Villa still said to be considering a number of targets this summer.
With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Villa Park:
Medical taking place
Villa are finally closing in on a deal to sign Rory Wilson from Rangers.
The young striker has been linked with a move for weeks, and it emerged earlier this month that the two clubs had agreed a suitable compensation package.
After a period of quietness, a fresh report has now emerged from the Daily Record, claiming Wilson has now checked in for his medical.
The deal expected to be completed within the coming days, with the initial fee believed to be around £350,000.
The Sun report the deal could rise to £1million depending on Premier League and international appearances.
Trezeguet is said to be on the brink of agreeing his Villa exit.
Trezeguet, who joined the club for £8.5m from Kasimpasa back in 2019, is no longer required at Villa, and he will now go elsewhere, as long as he can agree personal terms.
The report claims Fenerbahce were taken back by the forward’s wage demands, and they are hoping to convince him to sign a deal worth £1.9million including bonuses.
That would reportedly make Trezeguet the joint-highest paid player, along with Marek Hamsik.
