Aston Villa are reportedly set to beat Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City to the signing of Rangers wonderkid Rory Wilson.

According to The Sun, Villa have been competing with the Premier League’s giants to sign the 16-year-old striker.

Former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is reportedly close to persuading the young goal-machine to join the West Midlands club.

Wilson scored twice for Scotland Under-17s against the Czech Republic last week, and has already scored 40 times for the Rangers youth team this season.

The report states that the Glasgow club will be due around £300,000 in compensation if he leaves.
