Aston Villa are reportedly set to reject any offer for Douglas Luiz in the January transfer window.

Attention is firmly on Unai Emery's side after an impressive start to the season and a surprise win over Manchester City. The men in claret and blue are in the lofty heights of third position in the Premier League and Luiz has been a star man throughout the opening 15 fixtures.

According to reports, Arsenal have made Luiz their number one target for 2024, but Football Insider claims that Villa now rate Luiz at £100 million, although Villa are set to reject any offer for their star man in January, according to the football website.

Sources have told the website that Villa are 'adamant' that they will not sell Luiz in January. Arsenal could turn their attention to former Wolves star Ruben Neves in January instead.

Newcastle United are also believed to be in the race for Neves, as they are looking for a replacement for Sandro Tonali, who is serving a lengthy football ban for breaching betting regulations.

Villa eye Salzburg star

Elsewhere, and Emery is keen to add further talent to his midfield to create a smoother rotation process and one prodigy who is believed to have caught his eye is teenager Oscar Gloukh.

Gloukh is a 19-year-old attacking midfielder who currently plays his football for Red Bull Salzburg in Austria’s top-flight. The youngster has already represented his national team on 13 occasions and has netted three goals. The midfielder started his career at Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel’s top-flight and emerged as one of the team’s star player at just 17.

His talents quickly caught the attention of Red Bull Salzburg who have previously had the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai and Brenden Aaronson on their books.

Gloukh won the Austrian Bundesliga in his first season with Salzburg and has impressed in the Champions League this season with two goals, despite their exit in the group stage.
