Villa expected to sell forward ‘at a profit’

Aston Villa are expected to cash in on Moussa Diaby this summer after receiving an offer ‘too good to turn down’ by Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad. According to Football Insider, talks between the two clubs are ‘at an advanced stage’ and they are discussing a deal in excess of £45 million.

Diaby only signed for Villa last summer but he is already expected to be making the next move in his career. The 25-year-old impressed in his debut season with 10 goals and nine assists across all competitions. He also showcased his versatility by operating in multiple roles, including both wide positions, attacking midfield and centre-forward.

Football Insider reported earlier this week that Al-Ittihad had tabled a ‘huge’ offer for Diaby to join them in the Pro League. As Premier League clubs toe the line to stay within the profit and sustainability guidelines, the opportunity to Diaby ‘at a profit’ will be a huge positive for Villa as they also look to expand on their own summer recruitment.

Wolves target ‘wants’ move to Italy

Last week, CaughtOffside reported that Wolves had a ‘strong interest’ in signing Strahinja Pavlovic from RB Salzburg but they have been in competition with Chelsea and AC Milan. The Italian giants have reportedly offered the defender a wage between €1.5 million (£1.2m) and €2 million (£1.6m) but the Premier League outfits are said to be willing to better this proposal.

However, a new update from Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Pavlovic has ‘been clear’ with Salzburg and told them he ‘wants’ the move to Milan after agreeing personal terms with the club. The 23-year-old is reportedly ready for a new chapter in his career and negotiations ‘are underway’ between the two sides, seemingly ousting both Wolves and Chelsea from the race.
