Aston Villa are back in Champions League action on Wednesday night at home to Club Brugge. They won 3-1 away in the first leg over in Belgium so head into the tie with a healthy advantage.
Unai Emery’s side backed up that win with a 1-0 victory away at Brentford in the Premier League last Sunday. Attacker Ollie Watkins scored the winner against his former club at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Aston Villa latest regarding Marco Asensio
Aston Villa are already exploring the possibility of landing Marco Asensio on a permanent basis from PSG this summer, as per GiveMeSport. The report claims he could be available for just €15million (£12million) and the Midlands outfit are said to be in ‘advanced’ talks over an agreement.
Asensio, 29, was given the green light to leave his parent club on loan in the January transfer window to get some game time. His time in France has turned stale and he needed a change of scene to get his confidence back up.
The Spain international, who has 38 caps under his belt, has made a positive impression since making the switch to England on a temporary basis. He has scored five goals in seven games in all competitions. Emery landed him to add more competition and depth to his attacking ranks. He has given his team something different going forward and has injected quality into their squad as they aim to get into the top four again.

What has been said ahead of Aston Villa’s upcoming Champions League clash?
Axel Disasi, who joined Aston Villa on loan in January from Chelsea, has said they want to get the job done against Club Brugge. Speaking ahead of the game, he has said: “We played a great game there. The first one was great. We won there, and now we just have to finish the job. We know that it will not be easy, because it’s a very strong team and, in the Champions League, anything can happen. We just have to finish the job, stay focused and play the same game that we played there.”
He added: “It was my Champions League debut for all of my career, so it was great. Very great to have this feeling with the music, and all my family was there. It was very nice to have this feeling. It was something that I was looking for, so I’m very happy to achieve this. Now, I hope that the game of today, we will win again and go into the next stage.”
