Aston Villa can all but relegate Norwich City and former boss Dean Smith on Saturday if they are able to pick up the three points at Villa Park.
After ending their four game losing streak with the drab 0-0 draw against Leiester City last time out, Villa are still desperate to get back in the win column to end their campaign on a high whilst the Canaries need three points and a miracle if they are to remain a Premier League side moving forward.
A win for Steven Gerrard’s men and a win for Burnley on the day would seal Norwich’s fate for good leaving Smith’s return to Villa Park feeling far more bitter than sweet.
But the claret & blue need to put that to one side and concentrate on themselves this weekend and Gerrard has some big decisions ahead of him.
Emiliano Buendia keeps ‘knocking on the door’ for a start claimed the manager last week and he will be more determined than ever to get one against his former club on Saturday.
Marvelous Nakamba made his long awaited return from injury in stoppage time at the King Power Stadium and may get the nod from the off for this one.
Villa’s biggest problem lies in the attacking areas. Without a goal from open play in the last four games, something needs to change up front. Will we see it on Saturday?
Here’s the XI in full we think Gerrard may call upon.

4. CB - Ezri Konsa
There may have been some temptation to throw Calum Chambers in but after a clean sheet last time out I think Konsa retains his spot. | Getty Images
