Aston Villa predicted XI vs Leicester City: Experimentation time as Gerrard plans ahead, Nakamba starts

The 21/22 campaign resumes for the final time this weekend

Aston Villa’s turbulent season gets back underway for the final time on Saturday as Steven Gerrard and his men make the short trip to Europa Conference League semi-finalists, Leicester City.

The claret & blue head into the game on the back of four successive Premier League defeats, their worst run of the campaign to date.

It’s simply pride that Villa as a team are playing for now with Gerrard also making it pretty clear that certain individuals could be playing for their futures at the club.

Villa currently sit 15th in the league table, far away from where anyone at the club wants to be.

Under Dean Smith last season, the club finished 11th and anything less than that this campaign will be seen as a huge failure - especially after the funds that were spent during both transfer windows.

With that said, the club are safe from relegation and with a mass overhaul expected in the coming months and years - it gives Gerrard the perfect opportunity to experiment with a few things and give certain players maybe their one last chance to impress.

The Foxes will have one eye on their European tie the following week and this fixture could prove the perfect one for the team to get back on track.

Here’s the XI in full that we feel may take the field at the King Power Stadium.
