‘Awful performer’ starts as Emery risks Carabao Cup rotation - Aston Villa predicted XI v Everton - gallery

Here’s how we expect Aston Villa’s heavily rotated lineup to look for the Carabao Cup clash against Everton on Wednesday.

Aston Villa switch competitions for a third time in the space of six days as they take on Everton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

Back on home soil at Villa Park, Unai Emery and his men will be hoping to advance to the fourth round with an August repeat.

The Villans made it look easy on August 20 as they ran out 4-0 victors against Sean Dyche’s Toffees in the Premier League.

Villa are also on a high from beating Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge last time out, though Everton also won – 3-1 away at Brentford.

Emery is likely to rotate heavily due to the bigger game on the weekend, against Brighton & Hove Albion.

With that in mind, flick through the pages to see the 11 players we think will start in the cup midweek.
