With that in mind, here’s today’s round-up of the latest transfer news involving Villa...

Villa willing to offer Sanchez bumper deal

Aston Villa are keen on signing Inter Milan attacker Alexis Sanchez this summer, and would be ready to offer him the same wages that he earns in Italy, according to reports from his native Chile.

The former Arsenal star has fallen out of favour at the San Siro, and is set to be granted an exit in the coming weeks after being deemed surplus to requirements.

His potential availability has reportedly alerted Villa, who could go all out to sign the 33-year-old by offering him a wage packet to match the £150,000-a-week he currently earns, as per La Tercera.

Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Everton are all on alert, as Tomas Soucek and West Ham continue to struggle to reach an agreement over a new deal.

According The Sun, the Czech midfielder’s future in East London is in doubt after he was informed that he will not be receiving a pay rise any time soon.

Soucek is currently half-way through a four-year contract with the Hammers, and it is suggested that his current employers could even be willing to listen to offers in the region of £30 million for his services.

Offer tabled for Romagnoli

Aston Villa and Newcastle United have both made offers to sign Italian defender Alessio Romagnoli, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The AC Milan stalwart’s contract is set to expire in the coming days, with little indication that an extension is in the offing.

As such, a number of clubs have emerged as potential suitors, including Lazio, Newcastle, and Steven Gerrard’s Villans.

This latest update suggests that Villa have offered the player an annual contract in the region of £3.4 million.
